Intel does not outsource processor production to Samsung. CPU production remains in-house, but simple designs such as chipsets are still up for discussion.

Ryzen 3000 comes with soldered heatspreader

With Ryzen AMD started to solder the heatspreader to the CPUs. Also Ryzen 3000 comes with soldered heatspreader as AMD has confirmed.

Intel is currently planning the release of new 9th generation Coffee Lake Refresh processors. These are probably entry-level models.

Intel allegedly responds to Ryzen 3000 with 14nm Comet Lake, not Ice Lake

AMD’s Ryzen 3000 CPUs start in the middle of 2019. However, Intel’s opponent for this is Comet Lake and thus again a 14nm processor and not a 10nm Ice Lake.
