There’s another leak on Nvidia Super. The RTX 2080 Super allegedly comes with the full TU104 chip/3,072 CUDA cores, the RTX 2060 Super with 8 Gigabyte GDDR6.

Nvidia Super: Counterstrike to Navi

Last year, Nvidia presented a very strong new Generation with Turing at Gamescom. No other graphics chip currently comes close to the RTX 2080 Ti or the Titan RTX. However, the only remaining competitor AMD is not out to beat Nvidia in the high-end market. The company tends to target the middle class. At Computex 2019 AMD already had the first demonstration of Navi in its backpack. In the game Strange Brigade, the RX 5700 GPU beats the RTX 2070 from Nvidia by a good 10 to 15 percent.

Now it is questionable whether Nvidia really has to be afraid of Navi. After all, the company also offers very good models for the mid-range segment. Nevertheless a video entitled “Something super is coming…” appeared just before Computex 2019. Since then, the rumor mill has been running hot about what Nvidia Super could be all about. The well-informed authors of Videocardz have learned from their own sources that new graphics cards will probably be presented at Gamescom. According to the latest information, Nvidia is already planning three models for the E3 2019, each with faster and cheaper versions of the RTX 2080, RTX 2070 and RTX 2060. Of these three models, the first data seems to have been leaked.

RTX 2080 Super with 3,072 CUDA cores, RTX 2060 Super with 8 GB VRAM

The information comes from the Chinese network Weibo (via wccftech). Accordingly, the new graphics cards should actually have the suffix “Super”. There are still three models: the RTX 2060 Super, the RTX 2070 Super and the RTX 2080 Super. The technical data has changed for all three graphics cards. They each come with more cores. The RTX 2080 Super is to receive the TU104 full version named TU104-450. This has 3,072 CUDA cores, compared to the current RTX 2080 an increase of a good four percent. Before that, the Quadro RTX 5000 was reserved for full expansion. The memory should also be clocked slightly higher at 16 Gbps. The RTX 2070 Super will switch from the TU106 to the TU104-410 chip and receive 2,560 CUDA cores. This also fits the leak of a suspected RTX 2070 Ti. The memory on both graphics cards remains at 8 gigabytes of GDDR6 memory each with 14 Gbps clock.

The RTX 2060 Super looks a bit different. This is to come with a chip called TU106-410, which is equipped with 2,176 CUDA cores instead of 1,920 CUDA cores. The memory has also changed. Instead of a 192-bit interface, the RTX 2060 Super comes with a 256-bit interface and 8 gigabytes of GDDR6 memory. The graphics card would thus only rank slightly below the current RTX 2070, which with 2,304 cores has slightly more cores but the same amount of memory.

There is also price information on Weibo, but only for the RTX 2080 Super. This would cost 4,000 Chinese Yuan, which would be a good 515 Euro. It remains to be seen whether and how much of these rumors are true. At E3 2019, Nvidia could already reveal new details.
