Nvidia is currently preparing the Nvidia Super series. A new leak now confirms detailed specs and when the graphics cards will be released.

Nvidia Super: Confusion about technical data

Yesterday a wccftech leak gave a new twist to the Nvidia Super story. According to inside information the magazine got, the new generation will be completely redesigned. There should be Super variants of all graphics cards, including the RTX 2080 Ti. According to this information, the RTX 2080 Super receives the graphics chip of the RTX 2080 Ti. In addition there is an RTX 2070 Ti Super. Yesterday there were already denials from industry stars such as Igor Wallossek, who was the first to publish the presumably correct technical data. There were leaks before that that brought similar technical data into the game.

Super GPUs with more cores as Radeon Navi opponents

The very well informed website Videocardz has now confirmed the data of Igor Wallossek. According to Videocardz, the data comes directly from Nvidia AIBs. These Super models get a little more cores than their predecessors and also some other improvements. The RTX 2080 Super now comes with 3,072 CUDA cores and thus the full TU104 version. VRAM capacity remains at 8 gigabytes, but instead of 14 Gbps it is now clocked to 16 Gbps. The RTX 2070 Super jumps from the TU106 chip to the TU104-410 chip and now comes with 2,560 CUDA cores. VRAM remains the same with 8 Gigabyte GDDR6 at 14 Gbps clock. The RTX 2060 Super looks different. This now comes with 2,176 CUDA cores and 8 instead of 6 gigabytes of GDDR6 memory.

ModelChipCUDA CoresVRAMVRAM Clock
RTX 2080 TiTU102-300435211 GB GDDR614 Gbps
RTX 2080 SuperTU104-45030728 GB GDDR616 Gbps
RTX 2080TU104-40029448 GB GDDR614 Gbps
RTX 2070 SuperTU104-41025608 GB GDDR614 Gbps
RTX 2070TU106-40023048 GB GDDR614 Gbps
RTX 2060 SuperTU106-41021768 GB GDDR614 Gbps
RTX 2060TU106-20019206 GB GDDR614 Gbps

According to this technical data, the RTX 2070 Super and the RTX 2060 Super will receive the largest upgrade. The RTX 2060 can look forward to more cores and more memory. These two graphics cards are also the main competitors of the new AMD Navi-GPUs RX 5700 XT and RX 5700. The upgrade of the RTX 2080 to the RTX 2080 Super, on the other hand, is rather smaller.

Presentation next week, market launch in July, regular GPUs remain in portfolio

Videocardz also has interesting information regarding the launch of the new generation. According to the information Nvidia will present the Super GPUs already next week, which would fit also with the spread launch date of wccftech. However, Videocardz decidedly does not confirm this. However, the Nvidia Super GPUs are not expected to be launched until mid-July. According to the leak, Nvidia had just announced the new series to their AIBs. Accordingly, the market launch will not take place until July. There will also be new Founders Edition models. The cooler remains the same, but according to Videocardz, it has the “Super” emblem:

The picture is still a mockup, but it should go in this design direction. Videocardz, on the other hand, has no concrete information on the prices. They’re still working on that information. However, it looks as if the Nvidia super graphics cards are getting the MSRP prices of the previous RTX graphics cards. These are to remain on the market, but at a lower price.
