Nvidia Super allegedly includes three graphics cards. At E3 Nvidia is expected to present faster and cheaper versions of the RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080.

Nvidia Super: more mystery guesses

Since Nvidia uploaded a video with the title “Something super is coming…” to the GeForce channel shortly before Computex 2019, the rumor mill is literally overheating. At the Computex in Taipei there was nothing to see that could be associated with Super. Nvidia introduced only new mobile GPUs for professional use. There was still no trace of Super. Yesterday the well informed website Videocardz announced that Nvidia Super is not over yet. New graphics cards might be launched at Gamescom. However, today’s rumor sees it differently.

Faster and cheaper RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080

The rumor this time comes from TweakTown. The website reports that Nvidia is planning three faster versions of the RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080. On the one hand these should come with faster GDDR6 memory, but on the other hand also higher clock rates due to better selected chips are possible as well. A faster version of the RTX 2080 Ti is not planned, because there is not such a big market for it.

From wccftech comes a further, extremely interesting information about the price. This should be significantly below the current models of the RTX 2060, 2070 and 2080. Nvidia is supposed to undercut the price by $100. This would reduce the MSRP to $249, $399 and $599 respectively. The company wants to use this to arm itself against AMD’s next generation of Radeon GPUs, called Navi. It is unlikely that the “old” Turing graphics cards will be continued.

Nvidia Super: which names?!

A bit more difficult will be the names of the new graphics cards. While in the past the Ti abbreviation was simply used for such intermediate versions (e.g. GTX 1070 Ti), this would only work for the RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 with the current generation. Accordingly, a logical name would be RTX 2060 Super, RTX 2070 Super and RTX 2080 Super with regard to the “Super” signature advertised.

There is also more information about the launch. Since AMD has already announced the launch of the new Radeon Navi generation for the E3 2019, this date also seems logical for Nvidia. TweakTown also reports that Nvidia will use the E3 to introduce the new graphics cards. However, in general the rumor, like almost all rumors, is to be enjoyed with the utmost caution. I guess we’ll know more at E3.
