AMD introduces the new Radeon Navi graphics cards and a Ryzen 3000 with 16 cores at the Next Horizon gaming event. The livestream can be found here.

AMD has also planned a major event at the E3 2019, which is currently taking place. The Next Horizon gaming event is probably all about new products. In addition to a Ryzen 3000 processor with 16 cores, the main focus will be on the planned presentation of Radeon Navi. Below are summaries of the topics, and here is the livestream:
AMD Navi comes with RX 5700 XT as flagship
The E3 gaming exhibition AMD event will probably be dominated by the upcoming Radeon Navi graphics cards. Navi is after the Radeon VII or Vega 20 the second generation, which is produced in 7nm. AMD is thus primarily targeting the upper middle class. The declared main opponents are the RTX 2060 and the RTX 2070. Shortly before the presentation, details on both graphics cards have already leaked out. The RX 5700 XT is the flagship and offers 40 compute units. This results in 2,560 shaders, 256 texture units and 64 raster operators. The RX 5700 XT clocks to 1,905 MHz in boost, 1,755 MHz in game clock (which is not yet announced what it will be) and 1,605 MHz in base. The board power is specified at 225 watts, the memory has 8 gigabytes of GDDR6 memory with 14 Gbps speed. These are connected with a 256 bit interface, which results in 448 GB/s bandwidth. The RX 5700 XT already has first benchmarks. It beats the RTX 2070 in eight out of ten games, some with a 20 percent lead.
Below that there is the RX 5700, whose specifications were leaked by Videocardz and which comes with 36 compute units. It therefore has 2,304 shaders (as many as the RTX 2070), but like its big brother also 256 texture units and 64 raster operators. The clock rate with 1,725 boost, 1,625 game and 1,465 base clock is clearly below the RX 5700 XT. The board power is 180 watts. AMD also uses 8 gigabytes of GDDR6 with 14 Gbps as memory, connected with a 256 bit interface and a bandwidth of 448 GB/s. Both graphics cards also rely on DisplayPort 1.4 with Display Stream Correction, HDMI with 4K support (which suggests either the old HDMI 2.0 or the new HDMI 2.1 standard) and PCIe 4.0.
The prices of the two graphics cards are not yet known. These are likely to be an important point for many potential buyers. AMD actually has to undercut the competition’s prices significantly in order to have a real selling point. Also not yet known is whether Navi supports raytracing in any way.
Ryzen 3000 gets 16 cores after all
At Computex 2019 the surprise was great when AMD announced the Ryzen 9 3900X with “only” 12 cores. Actually, all journalists present had expected a 16-core CPU. The following day, however, the next information on 16 cores on the AM4 platform was already available. Yesterday a presentation slide leaked through, which also confirms a 16-core processor. The Ryzen 9 3950X comes with 16 cores, 32 threads and a boost clock of up to 4.7 GHz. The base clock is at 3.5 GHz, the TDP at a low 105 watts. Only the price is still unknown. Perhaps AMD simply preferred to present the Ryzen 7 3700X, Ryzen 7 3800X and Ryzen 9 3900X at Computex in the limelight. At the E3 2019, the company is now once again following up.
Also Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G will be presented
And AMD probably has a third surprise in its bags. As Spartan Geek has already confirmed in advance, AMD will present the two APUs Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G at E3 2019. The two processors with integrated graphics unit have already been leaked once before. Basically these are still Zen+ processors with 12nm structure width and Vega graphics unit. What’s new is that the heatspreader is soldered. This was not the case with the predecessor. However, the number of cores and threads remains the same. AMD, on the other hand, did a little work on the clock. The turbo clock of the CPU is now 300 MHz higher, the GPU clocks 150 MHz higher. As an upgrade, the Ryzen 5 3400G now comes with the Wraith Spire RGB cooler, while the Ryzen 3 3200G continues to be bundled with the Wraith Stealth. The prices remain the same at 149 and 99 US dollars respectively.
