At the E3 AMD also presented the RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition. The limited and faster version is only available in the USA and China.
Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition is faster and golden
At the E3 2019 AMD presented the two graphics cards Radeon RX 5700 XT and RX 5700. They are the first offshoots of the Navi generation and come with a completely new architecture called AMD Radeon DNA, or short RDNA. The main opponents are the RTX 2070 and RTX 2060 from Nvidia. Especially the price-performance ratio is important for AMD. The RX 5700 XT is a good 10 to 15 percent faster than the RTX 2070, but costs only $449. In terms of performance, the RX 5700 is even further behind the RTX 2060, but is priced at $379, which is less competitive.
In addition to the two standard models, AMD also presented a Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition at the E3. This is a high clocked version of the RX 5700 XT with a slightly modified cooler. It is black instead of matt silver and decorated with golden instead of red elements. In addition there is a slightly higher price of $499.
50th Anniversary Edition only available in USA and China
A difference to the usual RX 5700 XT is also the distribution channel. The graphics card can only be purchased directly via the AMD website from the 7th of July. Apparently the graphics card is not available in Europe like the 50th Anniversary edition of the Radeon VII. As Cowcotland reports, the Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition will only be available in the USA and China. Potential buyers in Europe and all other countries are left empty-handed or have to buy the card in different ways.
