On April 29 AMD starts its 50th anniversary with special anniversary products. Now pictures of the Ryzen 7 2700X 50th Anniversary Edition have appeared.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, AMD has come up with something special. The company has launched a number of new products. These include a red themed Radeon VII and a RX 590 from Sapphire in gold as well as a Ryzen 7 2700X. This version, especially released in the 50th Anniversary Edition, seems to be only a collector’s item and doesn’t come with any special clock rates or features like Intel did with the Core i7-8086K for the 40th anniversary of the Intel 8086 last year. But the design of the packaging and the heatspreader are special, as leaked pictures now show.

Heatspreader with the signature of AMD CEO Lisa Su
The website Videocardz has got its hands on the first images of the anniversary processor. In addition to the already familiar packaging, which is available in gold and black, there is also another special feature. On the heatspreader of the Ryzen 7 2700X 50th Anniversary Edition the signature of AMD CEO Lisa Su is lasered. Above the otherwise still existing Ryzen logo is the AMD 50 lettering. There seems to be no other changes. The pictures also prove that the anniversary processor comes with a Wraith Prism cooler, which is also included with the regular 2700X. The Ryzen 7 2700X 50th Anniversary Edition will go on sale on April 29th together with the Radeon VII, the RX 590 and a Gigabyte mainboard. The price will probably be a bit higher than usual.
