TAITRA, the organiser of Computex 2019, today announced in a press release that AMD CEO Lisa Su will give a keynote speech at the opening of the technology fair in Taipei. The keynote is entitled “The Next Generation of High-Performance Computing” and will take place on 27 May 2019 at 10.00 a.m. local time (May 26th, 10 pm Eastern Time).

COMPUTEX, as one of the global leading technology tradeshows, has continued to advance with the times for more than 30 years. This year, for the first time, a keynote speech will be held at the pre-show international press conference,” said Mr. Walter Yeh, President & CEO, TAITRA, “Dr. Lisa Su received a special invitation to share insights about the next generation of high-performance computing. We look forward to her participation attracting more companies to participate in COMPUTEX, bringing the latest industry insights, and jointly sharing the infinite possibilities of the technology ecosystem on this global stage.

Computex Press Release

It is nothing unusual for AMD to hold a presentation at Computex. This year, however, there will be an opening keynote for the first time. But the press release also reveals what AMD will discuss in detail.

Computex’s press release also includes a section about upcoming products. Literally named are Epyc 2, Ryzen 3000 and Radeon Navi, which are called upcoming products. During the keynote, Lisa Su and other high-profile guests will then present details on these upcoming products.

Upcoming products include 7nm AMD EPYC™ datacenter processors, 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ desktop processors and graphics cards based on the next-generation “Navi” architecture – all of which are designed to create exceptional experiences for gamers and creators as well as help solve many of the toughest challenges in our lives. During the CEO Keynote, Dr. Lisa Su and other high-profile guests will highlight new details of upcoming products and showcase how the industry is building a new high-performance computing ecosystem that will push technology to the next level.

Computex Press Release

This makes it almost certain that AMD will present the new Ryzen generation Ryzen 3000, Epyc 2 and Radeon Navi at Computex or at least present further details. An introduction to Computex would also go well with a rumored launch on July the 7th. On this day, both the Ryzen 3000 processors with X570 mainboards and Radeon Navi graphics cards could already be on the market. At Computex, mainboard manufacturers will be able to present their first X570 mainboards. The date at the show could also be the official launch date of the Epyc 2 processors, of which samples are already in circulation and benchmarks leaked out. Anyway, we’ll know more in a good two months.
